Golf day

The 7th annual Harmonix Golf day was held at The Belfry on the 1st June.

The day before John Farragher was at The Belfry to ensure course conditions were ‘up to scratch’ (as you would at The Belfry!?).  Unlucky for him though, course played well but heavy storms saw him off to the ‘19th hole’ with concerns about the weather forecast for the following day, seemingly not in our favour!

The attendees gathered for the day’s event, commencing with breakfast and a introductory briefing. The format for this year was changed slightly to challenge the better handicapped players. We therefore sent 12 off on the Brabazon (Ryder Cup course) and 12 off the PGA National.

As luck would have it (and as it had for the last 6 years), the weather for the day was excellent and the sun shone throughout the day.

The overall winner of the Stapleford competition was Shital Thakkar of Access Storage Ltd, and for his outstanding play, which John Farragher would say was down to the great coaching from his team mentor (none other than ………!), he was awarded a First Class weekend in Paris for two with a night at the "Moulin Rouge" for sublime entertainment and an exquisite meal.

Unfortunately Harmonix employees do not qualify for overall competition therefore compete amongst themselves and this year’s worthy internal award went to Stan Ainslie. Well done Stan!

Dinner and presentation of awards was held in the fabulous Ryder Room, then it was onto the "Bellair" nightclub for a quiet evening of copious amounts of alcohol and sampling of the local fare.

Troy Hunter as always, entertained us all with his break dancing routine on the dance
floor.

Another year and another fun and successful Golf Day for which we thank all our guests for providing great golf, camaraderie and most of all much needed further work!

We look forward to next year’s event, which will be held again at The Belfry, on Friday, 6 June 2008.  Barbara will be in touch soon with full details.
